✿ Alternative Web Spaces ✿

Alternative Web Spaces reimagines the web in response to its shift from an explorative, user-driven landscape to a commercialised environment that prioritises efficiency over expressiveness. Drawing from early net.art practices and culture, the project presents a personal essay reflecting on the web, a series of interactive browser-based spaces, and a curated collection of contemporary net.art (websites made on and for the internet)—seeking to preserve and give visibility to an internet culture that often feels intangible and ephemeral. Ultimately, it advocates for a healthier, more expressive web in an age shaped by commercialisation and algorithmic sameness.
